Small and big… …
Waterspouts can be of different sizes—from just a few
feet high and a few feet wide to hundreds of feet wide
and over a mile high. They can move at a speed of 3–128
kilometres per hour. The wind speed inside it can be 96–190
kilometres per hour.
Waterspouts usually last for about fifteen minutes. A few can last up to
half an hour.
More than one waterspout can form from the same base of clouds.
These are called families.
