drowning of people. The Romans called him Neptune.

Floods

Stories on floods are found in almost all religions and civilizations.
Most of them speak of how God wanted to punish man for his evil
ways. He decided to flood the earth and destroy mankind forever.
However, in all such stories, there is one good man—Manu in Hindu
mythology or the Biblical Noah, who was warned of the danger and
advised to build a boat so that he could survive the deluge. He and
the other animals on the boat survived and renewed life on earth
once again.
